i learned a lot in the games lab like i learned how to give a response about a game and I also learned a little bit on how people make games. My favorite part of the camp was probably playing guided game play because I love playing games that i have never played before then answering questions about them. My least favorite part of the camp was probably doing video closet every day because i don't like thew idea that i am on a camera.

The best part of the Game Lab was to hang out with the developers and play games with them. It is really cool that they can spend their summer designing video games and getting to hand out with kids at the same time. The least favorite part was doing blogs and video closets because it wastes time but I know why we do it and it is to give the developer good feed back and it helps them in what they do.

What I like about creating my own character is that I get to choose the age, the gender, the hight,
the hair, and all that. The hardest part of making the character is drawing it.

I liked how I created the way the character had an adventure. The hardest part of creating her was how she acted, her name, and her age.

The part that I like about creating about my own character is that you get to add your own parts to the character that you want to change or add onto. The hardest part of creating your own character is that you have to be careful about the copyright problem because if you like a character from another game.... Oh-well? So that is the cool part of creating your own character.

1. How fun it is
2. how graphical it is (not how good graphics, if the content is appropriate or not)

And to the video game that me and my class mates are designing I think the best part of the game would be the funny part of the game.

The most important part of the game is the story line. The reason this is is because that if the story line is no good then the whole game will be bad because there is no point to the game then. The game were designing Assassin Creed 2 we are focusing on the characters and the story line to make it a little bit different because when you go off of sequels that you have tho pay attention to the copy write problem. The reason this is because Assassins Creed was the best game it had the best story line that made it a very good game. That is why the story line is the best part of the game.

The most important part of a game is the story line because if the story line is no good then what is the point of the game. The characters matter to but like the miis on the wii they have no arms and legs but you presive they are there. But without sertain things in the stoy line it stinks and is no good. If the game is no good no one will buy it and the company will lose money one a point less game. So the story line is the most important part of the game

I think the most important part of a game is the difficulty of the game.
Because I like a good hard game, I would rather play old games because they don't tell you what to do and thats what makes them very challenging because you have to find all of the upgrades by yourself, and they usually don't give you a map and makes it even more difficult.

I think the most important thing of a video game would be the story line. The reason why I say that the story line is the most important part because without a good story line the game will get very boring and if it's boring the player will just not play it and when he goes to buy a new game he probably not buy that if it is the same concept as his last game so he won't get bored of playing that one to.

To me the most important part of a game is the story mode. I think that because the story mode is what you are trying to beat. In the story mode i think it is more challenging than maybe playing free play because you are trying to get past a certain level and get to the next so that you can beat that one. Out of everything that is what i think is the most important.

The most important part of a game is that it has to be either fun or educational or both, since no one would buy it if it wasn't fun. The developers need to know that, and some games are not interesting at all. The developers of these games need to know that, and they also need to not spend all the time on graphics. They need to spend more time on how you play the game, and the story line, etc. I also think Grand Theft auto vice city stories is a great example of a perfectly balanced game, it also lets you blow things up! I wish there were more games where I could blow things up. People should make more of those. I think games should be educational as well as fun because most games don't let people learn from them. Unless you want to be very violent. Then they let you.

The genre that I like most is racing and action because in racing it gives you some competition and if you lose every other time you are going to want to play it again and try to get first place. In action games it makes you feel like you are really shooting that gun or really fighting in World War 2. I don't really like other genres because some of them are kind of boring and don't make you feel like you are there.
game Genre
jameel,11,6th.my favorite type of genre is warfare.I love all the types of guns you get to use.and the danger around every corner.
plus I like killing people with the cool guns!I think the other genres just doesn't have enough ACTION!!!

Well i like DDR because it has a large selection of songs and it tells you what the rating is. Some of the others just go straight to the game, they don't show you with difficulty there is. Like wii sports and MX they don't tell you what the difficulty level is.

The genre of games I like the most is the fighting and the adventure games. The reason I like these kind of games is that they are fun to play and have a very clear purpose. Like the game Assassin Creed it is a fun fighting adventure game that has the best story line. Or something like Super Mario Galexy that is just fun adventure and has a lot of fun stuff to do. The reason I like these games over the others is that the others get boring after playing them 10 times so that is why I like adventure and fighting games.

I like simulation games the best, mainly Sims2, because you really can do whatever you want. The things wrong to me with other genres was you cant really do whatever you want. in Sims2 you can get them to have kids, you can download custom content, upload your custom content, etc.

The genre of games that i like to play was the sports genre .The reason that I like this genre is because i love almost all sports except for baseball.Another reason why i love the sports genre better is because i have been playing sports my whole life and it just grew on me. There really isn't any other reason it's just that I like the sports genre better.

Typology assignment
The kids in the 4 seemed to come up with similar categories, i.e., adventure, war, music, sports, racing. One interesting and different category was "Create a Something." Games in this category were Strong Hold 2 and Age of Mythology. Other categories included family, anime, action, horror, physical, science fiction, killing, arcade fighting, strategy, superhero, fighting, and gang-related. Only one group had an "unknown" category.
The kids did well with dividing the games into categories. They got a little ansy by the time we went over the last group's categories. Not surprising, because of the repetition of categories.
Video closet and blog
A lot of the kids asked what "non-standard controllers" meant although they had been playing with them all morning. I guess we need to be sure and explain this term!
Blog question:
Non-standard controllers
Which was your favorite non-standard controller you played and with what game? Why?
First day of blog; a big effort to get some of the kids to write more than 1 or 2 sentences.

Today the best non-standard controller was the steering wheel and pedals for the game Burnout Revenge. The reason why I chose this non-standard controller was because when you raced it made you feel like you were in the race. When you used it it was very realistic because holding the steering wheel made it seem like you were the driver and not the person controlling the driver.

My favorite non-standard controller was the Wii remote, when I used it with Elebits. Elebits is an awesome game since you get to shoot these guys that look like mutant rabbits with antennas on their heads. They sometimes go on dressers, in drawers, and maybe in the fridge, but i haven't gotten past multiplayer lvl 1. It is very fun, and I hope everyone who plays it will enjoy it. I also like it because you get to mess up rooms without getting in trouble, which happens in real life.
Thank you to whoever takes their time to read this, Emily.

My favorite non-standard controler was the guitar for the Guitar Hero. I just like the way it feels to have a semi realalistic controller. Also the bongo drums are pretty cool for the Game Cube because you can hit and use your hands our the sticks and it can read what sounds you make like clapping or hitting the sticks together so i like the idea of semi realistic controllers.

My favorite Non Standard Controller game was Donkey Konga, because it picks up the beat and when you clap it picks that up to. I was amazed by that, and I thought the game was really fun.
I really liked this game because it was challenging to stay on beat.
