Summer Session 1
Schedule Day 1
8:00 am Greet parents/kids, get forms (receipts, payment, consent), rating form, allergies, cell phone, check “in case of emergency” list
8:30 am Welcome (Barb/Rachel), Intro to Lab, Orientation, Overview of rules and
expectations
8:45 am Ice Breaker - Interview each other
9:20 am Guided Game Play/Game Testing with Developers - Choose one game you have never before
10 am Snack/Discussion on game critique, followed by consultants critiquing their favorite game
10:25 am Typologies assignment (assign for homework – each consultant to be provided with 10 sheets of paper to take home and write down 10 games they have played at home or at a friends house – title of game and brief description on one side of the paper.
10:30 am Introduce Video Closet/Blog (blog if there’s time) - Introduce and model how to blog and video closet, then let them blog for the first time. Have them respond to the video closet question while others are responding to the blog questions.
11:50am Clean up
12:00 pm Dismissal
Video Closet: What was your favorite game you played today and why?
Homework: Typology Activity – Write down 10 game titles and a brief description of each game on 10 sheets of paper. Bring back Tuesday.
